Joshua Bergmann comes from an eclectic musical background with experience in genres from jazz to bluegrass and all things in between. Pursuing his passion for music from a young age, he is studied in classical composition and jazz guitar. Josh however, found his true love is rooted in playing the mandolin and guitar in folk, Americana and bluegrass. Through years of dedication he’s become an accomplished player, performing on major bluegrass festival stages and venues.
As a go-to player for the Southern California area, Joshua has been able to work with an array of amazing Americana and bluegrass bands. With his immaculate 1919 Gibson A-3 mandolin, he has also been a choice studio player for a variety of professional artists. Growing up and living in the talent rich town of Ojai Ca. Joshua has been in big demand and blessed to collaborate with some of the best in the business with their artistic endeavors. Joshua has also worked diligently to move forward with his own musical vision, developing his unique songwriting style, multi-instrumentation, and production skills. This resulted in his self-produced EP titled “Joshua Bergmann,” a record that has become a fan favorite.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of Joshua’s artistic perspective is his battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Losing major muscle groups in his upper body, Joshua has been forced to change his style of play and conquer challenges that few musicians have to face. These triumphs are important contributors to the artistic depth and unique style that makes Joshua such a profound artist.
